In the video work Rebuild and change nature I shoulder the role as my younger self; the aid worker in Uganda. I interact with people I meet in order to examine the dream of the exotic and ideas about forging cultures. I meet young Ugandan girls who bleach their skin to achieve a more Western look. A local musician who invite me to participate as a dancer in his music videos to get a Western element to gain popularity. I examine the opportunities and purejudices that the color of my skin gives me. The film is partly based on my experiences as an aid worker in western Uganda between 2003-2007 and my years as an art student in Kampala 2007.
